1 - How to order a commemorative video from IACS?
It's very simple. Watch this video tutorial, available in French, Spanish and English.
2 - Why have a memorial video created?
A memorial video is a process of mourning and celebration.
Creating a memorial video is an important part of the grieving process. It offers families an opportunity to come together, share memories, and celebrate the life of their loved one. It's a creative act that can bring comfort and help transform grief into a positive and lasting tribute. Having a memorial video created is an investment in memory, legacy, and family continuity. It's a priceless gift that continues to give over the years, allowing love and memories to endure.
It's an everlasting keepsake to be passed down from generation to generation.
A memorial video isn't just for those who knew a loved one. It's a powerful tool for passing on memories from generation to generation. For children or grandchildren who didn't have the chance to meet the person, or for those who were too young to have clear memories, a video offers a tangible connection.
It allows:
-
Sharing life stories: Younger generations can understand where they come from, learn about their family's roots, and learn the life lessons and values of their ancestors.
-
Maintaining emotional connection: Seeing and hearing the person can help create or strengthen an emotional connection, even in their physical absence.
-
Preserving family heritage: Traditions, stories, and anecdotes can be passed down in a vibrant way, ensuring that the family legacy lives on.
Serving as a genealogical resource: Beyond names and dates, a video adds a human and emotional dimension to family trees, making family history richer and more meaningful.
3- Is there a minimum number of photos to send for a posthumous video?
There is no strict guideline for the number of photos to include in a tribute video, but general recommendations can be followed based on the length of the video and the desired emotional effect.
Here are some helpful guidelines:
The typical length of a tribute video is 2 to 5 minutes on average (often accompanied by lyrics and a song or two).
Recommended number of photos:
On average, 1 photo every 5 to 10 seconds is the usual pace to allow time to feel the emotion without rushing the viewing. It can be modified to include text or voiceovers.
Guideline:There is no specific recommended length. Generally, video length is at least 1:30 to 3:30 minutes, longer depending on the length of the embedded videos and the timing of the images.
Tips for choosing photos:
Represent all stages of life:
Childhood, adolescence, adulthood, old age.
Key moments: weddings, births, holidays, passions.
Include loved ones:
Family, friends, colleagues, pets.
Vary the emotions with personal or collective memories:
Laughter, tenderness, solemn moments, memorable memories.
Alternate styles:
Posed portraits, natural photos, black and white or color photos.
Include videos, voiceovers, and music.
Real or AI-animated videos are a definite plus in a posthumous tribute video, a voiceover and music further reinforce the emotional impact.
4. What exactly does AI bring to the table?
With AI, IACS transforms a static photo into an immersive and dynamic video, combining cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies and professional cinematic post-production techniques. IACS adds motion, seamless transitions, visual effects, music, and voiceovers to create an innovative visual experience.
5. How is AI used in the creative process?
AI is at the heart of the process. It is used for:
Image Analysis: Understanding the content of your photos (subjects, depth, colors) for more natural camera movements and effects.
Intelligent Animation: Generating virtual camera movements (pans, zooms, tracking shots) that simulate a real-life shot, even from a still photo.
Visual Enhancement: Optimizing image quality, colorimetry, and contrast for a cinematic look.
Content Generation (Optional): IACS can also use AI to generate backgrounds, visuals, or even synthetic voiceovers to enrich the video, such as adding a familiar location to the family.
6. What "professional film tools" do you use?
IACS uses professional and technical post-production software from the film industry, such as:
Film video editing software: for precise and seamless editing.
Professional transition and visual effects (VFX) software: for complex animations, keying, and special effects.
Audio mixing software: for a professional soundtrack, including music, sound effects, and voiceovers.
Color grading: digital tools to give your video a professional and consistent look, used for film productions.
7. What type of photo or video should we send you?
All types of photos or videos are accepted.
IACS provides a form/script to facilitate the sending of files in order, with all the information regarding formats.
Old photos (paper) must be copied into a digital file.
The higher the quality of your photos (resolution, clarity), the better the final result will be.
Videos (cassettes/VHS) must also be exported to a digital file.
If you are not comfortable with these techniques, you can entrust IACS with the task of copying and transferring the files in digital format (additional charge).
8. What photo formats do you accept?
Most common image formats: JPEG, PNG, etc.
For optimal quality, IACS recommends high-resolution files.
9. How long is a tribute video?
The length depends on the number of photos and videos inserted. The emotional impact is much greater than the length of the video itself.
IACS can add short clips (a few seconds) or longer videos if you wish.
This information is detailed on the form/script provided by IACS.
10. Can I add text, music, or a voiceover?
Yes, absolutely! It's even highly recommended for a more impactful video:
IACS can provide you with a form that helps you upload files in chronological order.
Text and titles: You can add text sparingly to describe moments in life, dates, etc.
Music: You can provide your own music, or IACS can help you choose one that suits the desired atmosphere.
Voiceover: You can provide recordings, or IACS can create a professional recording, or even use an AI-generated voiceover if it fits your project.
Artificial Intelligence (AI): to bring photos to life.
